Our methodology\nis to design management solutions that establish a foundation for continued\nquality support as the organization continues to develop, enter new markets,\nand expand operational capabilities. We break down the path to certification in\nan iterative, phase-based approach:<\/li><li>Planning and Discovery: This phase focuses on\nunderstanding the current state and planning to move to the desired state.\nTypical activities include a planning meeting, orientation training, performing\na gap analysis, identifying a scope of the effort, producing a report of the\nfindings which details strengths, weaknesses, and gaps between the actual state\nversus the planned (or desired) state. These findings are then used to develop\na project plan which outlines tasks, timelines, and key milestones.<\/li><li>Development: After the planning phase is\ncomplete, the process development begins. Typical activities include forming a\nsteering committee which defines roles and responsibilities; identifying and\ndefining policies, processes, plans, procedures, manuals, and work\ninstructions, and&nbsp;documenting business processes, inputs, and outputs.<\/li><li>Implementation: The implementation of the\nprocess includes introducing new processes; mentoring employees; setting\nobjectives and measurements; training personnel on new requirements and\nmonitoring their overall effectiveness.<\/li><li>Validation: This is the final phase, which\nassesses the validity of the system. Standard tasks include audits; testing; assessing\nperformance; evaluating data and analyzing reports.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Collectively, these four phases culminate in a convergence\nof your business processes and best practices, and eventually reinvent the \u201cway\nthings are done\u201d across the organization within that scope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to ensure the project is well managed, it is\nhelpful to identify an executive sponsor for escalation points; to identify\nprocess owners; to demonstrate management commitment; to determine repositories\nand tools early on and to establish channels for communication.
